Non-Surgical Jaw Reshapping / Facial Narrowing

Many men and women complain of prominent jaw muscles and a wide jaw and lower face. This may be due to prominent back jaw muscles (masseter muscles) caused by the combination of excess bone and muscle development of the jaw, worsened by habits such as continually clenching the back teeth (bruxism).  Previously, correction required surgical intervention with bone and muscle recontouring.

About Nonsurgical Facial Shaping in Ann Arbor

Now much of the muscle recontouring can be done nonsurgically with the use  of neuromodulators such as Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Daxxify.  Treatment  requires careful technique and detailed knowledge of the underlying anatomy and physiology.  Dr. Burke uses this information to formulate an individualized treatment plan.

Results

Most patients require initial injections and are reevaluated in 3-4 weeks for effect.  Some will require an additional injection at this time.

What to expect

Once the desired effect has been achieved and the results found to be stable, reevaluations are done at 6-9 month intervals.

With continued treatments, the muscles shrink in size and often require less frequent injections and the injection of fewer neuromodulator units.
